Join us for a comprehensive Know Your Rights Town Hall on Saturday, June 24.
Executive Director of Student Nonviolent Action Union and veteran of Texas law enforcement and the Marine Corps Dan Webber will be leading a day of education and empowering featuring immigration attorneys and representatives from the Austin Lawyers Guild.
We will be covering your rights when interacting with law enforcement (for citizens & residents), crossing the border, when on your own property & in public places.
We will also be training you on de-escalation when interacting with law enforcement AND in public while utilizing your first amendment rights to rally, march, and protest. We will have 2 live music segments with group song (morning & afternoon) + a lunch break with food trucks on-site (or you can pack a lunch).
Texas House Rep Gene Wu, Austin City Council Member for D-4 Chito Vela, Director of Resist Trump Campaign & Resist Austin organizer Nevin K, Hands Off Central TX organizers Sophia Mirto and Erin McQuirter will be speaking between training sessions.

10 AM - 2 PM Invited speakers, Comprehensive Know Your Rights Training for Citizens & Residents in English & ASL, Immigration Law in Spanish & English & ASL, De-escalation Training including how YOU can de-escalate law enforcement, group song
2 - 3 PM Lunch Break with food trucks on-site, or pack a lunch! During lunch, Resist Austin and Hands Off Central TX will be tabling, LWV will be registering voters & helping you check your registration.
3 - 6 PM Invited speakers, Nonviolence in Practice Training based on the successful tactics of MLK, Q & A and group song
